Colony Shale Oil
$6 billion, turnkey shale oil project capable of processing 47,000 barrels-per-day of low sulfur oil, 4,000 barrels-per-day of liquefied petroleum gas, 130 tons-per-day of ammonia, 170 tons-per-day sulfur and 800 tons-per-day of coke. The materials handling facilities consisted of an underground mine; raw shale crushing; product storage and transportation facilities; spent shale processing and storage facilities; and, ancillary facilities. In addition, an entire planned community of Battlement Mesa was built to relocate the town of Parachute and house the construction and operations personnel required for the project, approximately 6,000 workers plus families and support businesses.
